It is advisable to keep buffer days and not rush with a tight schedule.

The Inspection Bungalows do have toilet and bath set up. Hot water will be provided by boiling water in large containers over a wood fire.

Total: 2700 kms approx

This is an exhaustive itinerary and can be customized as per your choice. Various legs can be clubbed into one to save days. Depending on on your plans and moods, you may choose to leave out some places if you wish to. However, if you have time, it would be a sin to leave out anything.

– Passport (Advisable)
– UID (Advisable)
– Voters ID (Advisable)
– Driving License
– All Bike Documents (Insurance, Pollution and RC in Original)
– 2-3 Copies of each document (Not required but sometimes these are asked at check posts to be submitted so good to have as photocopy shops are not available at these places)

– Indian tourists need to obtain Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Arunachal Pradesh. ILP can be obtained at Deputy Residence Commissioner Offices of Kolkata, Guwahati or Tezpur. One needs to provide two copies of passport size photos and two photocopies of valid identity proof.
– If you are an Indian, you can apply personally in advance for a 15 day inner line permit (easily extendable for 15 days) in Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati or the places mentioned in Assam.
– Domestic tourists may also apply for an Arunachal Pradesh Inner Line Permit online from here.
– All DC offices of Arunachal Pradesh Govt, whether in Tezpur or Guwahati or anywhere they are present are closed on Sundays and Public holidays. You won’t get your ILP made on these days.

– Getting bikes on rent is difficult in Guwahati or after that. You can go with a tour group who will arrange it for you or you can transport your own bikes.

– October to March
– During the ride you will have to bear anywhere from -5C to 30c. It is advised to have enough warm layers. Generally during this period you can expect warmth under the sun and some serious chill in the shadows.

– Only BSNL/MTNL Postpaid works in the region. No other Postpaid connection works. Prepaid connection doesn’t even work in Assam. Other Postpaid connections work in Assam. So if you need to be connected while you are there, please don’t visit unless you have a postpaid BSNL/MTNL connection. If you don’t have BSNL/MTNL then be prepared to be disconnected from the point you leave Tezpur/Guwahati till you come back there.
